Devotion to Saint Peregrine

Many people especially those suffering from cancer pray for the intercession of this great saint for their healing.

Saint Peregrine Laziosi is an Italian Catholic saint of the Servite Order (Friar Order Servants of Mary).

The intercession of St Peregrine is invoked in a number of instances. He is the patron saint for people who are ill with cancer, HIV and AIDS, and any other life threatening illnesses. He was born in Forli Italy in 1260 and canonised on December 27 by Pope Benedict XIII. His feast day is in 1 May.

He was born to a wealthy family, and later joined the Servite order. He got cancer in his leg and the night before it was to be amputated he prayed before the cross and it was healed.
